Purpose of use:

The pink crystals; temperature of fusing 218-219 º C, soluble in water, glacial CH3COOH, benzene, easily soluble in alcohol, ether, ethyl acetate. Acid-base indicator (changes color from yellow to blue at pH 3,8-5,4).
